Elizabeth Doralee Huss

    Elizabeth "Dora" Doralee Huss, age 64, of North Star, MI, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025, at her home.
    A Funeral Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Kathryn Strouse officiating. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star Twp., MI. Visitation will be held on Monday January 5, 2026, from 2-8 P.M., with the family present from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
     Dora was born in St. Louis, MO on December 5, 1961, the daughter of Aloysius and Marie Monahan. She graduated from Lawton High School with the class of 1980 in Lawton, Oklahoma. On August 8, 1981, Dora married the love of her life, Douglas P. Huss, at a beautiful ceremony in her mother's backyard. They were together for 44 amazing years.
     Dora was very crafty - always having a crochet or sewing project, or working on a coloring book. She loved to read romance novels and was an avid fan of Survivor and Hell's Kitchen, always gossiping with her friends during commercial breaks about the shows. But most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family - whether it be watching the Amazing Race, or just hanging out at the house and loving on the cats.
     She is survived by her husband, Douglas Huss of North Star, MI; her son Douglas (Heather Tugen) Huss II; her grandchildren: Hope Huss, Aaleigha Tugen-Huss, Chloe Huss, and Douglas Huss III; her sister Rennie Auiler of Springfield, MO; many nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law: Francis Huss Jr., Rodney Huss, and Harold Huss. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, her son PFC Aloysius James "AJ" Huss, her in-laws Francis Sr. and Jacqueline Huss; her brother-in-law Vernon Huss, and sister-in-law Debra Huss.
