Edward Dale Hrymecki, age 90, of Ovid, MI, on February 28, 2026, Saturday afternoon, Ed woke up in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Memorial Service will be held for Edward at a later date.
Ed was born in Elsie, MI on February 16, 1936, the son of John Frank and Anna Helen (Cermak) Hrymecki. He graduated from Elsie High School, with the class of 1954. Right after high school, he joined the U.S. Army, and proudly served during the Korean War. Edward retired from Georgia-Pacific after working as a warehouse manager for many years.
On June 16, 1958; Edward married the love of his life, Carol Ann (Hankins) Hrymecki, in Fairbanks, New Jersey. They spent over 67 wonderful years together, and raised two daughters and a son. Edward and Carol loved to travel together, whether it is on cruises to Hawaii or Alaska; or taking mystery bus tours to exciting destinations.
Edward had a passion for many things including wood carving, NASCAR, football, and gardening. He always made a point to get together with his friends once a month for breakfast. Edward was also a dedicated member of the Community Evangelical Presbyterian Church for many decades. He loved his church family.
His family will always have fond memories of celebrating his 90th birthday together, and being showered with love and birthday cards from everyone in the community.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol; his children: Dianna (Randy) Stanfield of Ovid, MI; and Cherie (Richard) Delger of Ovid, MI; and Dale (Laurie) Hrymecki of Maple Rapids, MI; and his brother John Hrymecki of Kansas. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jonathan Nohel, Chris Nohel, Tasha Seeley, Brianna Carroll-Marrah, Nichole Miller, and Dale Michael Hrymecki Jr.; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Pauline Christie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Edward's honor can be made to the Elsie Food Bank, Bella Women Center, or any charity of your choice. Online condolences may be sent to www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, Michigan.
