     Edward Alan "Ed" Doan, age 75, of Ovid, MI, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024, at Trinity Health IHA Medical Group, Palliative Care - Ann Arbor Campus, Ypsilanti, MI.
     Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
     Ed was born in Lansing, Michigan on December 24, 1948, the son of Lawrence Grant and Arlene Cora (Hoffman) Doan. Ed retired from the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant. He was very patriotic and proud of his service time.
     Ed traveled all over Michigan with the Patriot Guard Riders and was fondly known as "Cobra". He was a member of the Elsie American Legion and the Owosso VFW. He participated in flag lines all over Michigan and was active in "Welcome Home" ceremonies for our soldiers. He was also a part of Wreaths Across America.
     Ed enjoyed the company of his cat Maynard, many beloved pets and wildlife. He enjoyed doing jig saw puzzles. Ed was good at checking in with friends and visiting them when he could. In his younger years he liked putting together model cars and listening to music.
     He is survived by his step-siblings: Margaret Weisman, Evelyn Cooley, and Nelson Weisman; sister-in-law Rhonda Doan; nieces: Lauri (Tim) Rubelman, Deana Doan, Dr. Valerie (Edwin Fleischer) Weisman, and Rhonda (Dr. David) Olshine; nephews: Christopher Weisman, David Weisman, John (Janee) Weisman, Steve Spencer, and John Spencer; and his special friend Carolyn Kahles. He is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. He is also survived his goddaughter Theresa Tyson Norton. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Doan, mother and step-father Arlene and George Weiseman, brother: Lawrence Doan, nieces: Shari Doan and Francis (Weisman) Smith, nephew Mark Weisman, and his two step-brothers: Pete Weisman and Louis Weisman.
