Dwight Dean Shepherd

     Dwight Dean Shepherd, age 68, of Alma, MI, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Midland, MI, with his family by his side.

     A Memorial Service will be held at North Star Township Hall, North Star, MI, on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 1:00 P.M.

     Dwight was born in Alma, Michigan on May 19, 1954, the son of Dean Fleming and Constance Josephine (Craley) Shepherd. He graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1973 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1973-1979 on the U.S.S. Saratoga. He loved to tell his grandson or anyone else who would listen all about it.

     On November 28, 1981, Dwight married the love of his life Pamela Jean Kienitz at the Ithaca United Brethren Church. They have been blessed with 41 years of marriage. He worked for Alma Products for 20 years, retiring in 2017.  Dwight proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1979 on the U.S.S. Saratoga. He loved to tell his grandson or anyone else all about it. Dwight liked the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed Westerns and John Wayne. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren, especially watching Ramsy play football, and watching Sesame Street with Audrey. 

     He is survived by his wife Pam, daughter Carlee (Dean) Sova of Breckenridge, MI; two grandchildren: Ramsy and Audrey; one sister Bernice (Ken) Chapko; one brother Bernard Shepherd, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Halee Shepherd, granddaughter Taylor Shepherd, and his sister June Shepherd.
