Douglas A. Fisher

Douglas A. Fisher, 73, of Midland and formerly of Alma, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Midland. He was born July 9, 1941, in Alma, son of the late Russell A. and Pauline (Halker) Fisher. Doug was a 1959 graduate of Alma High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2001. On May 1, 1971, he married the former Donna L. (Sampson) Fisher in Bay City.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sisters, Shirley A. Grandy of Midland and Martha L. (Elmer) Johnson of Alma, and sister-in-law, Rosemary Fisher of Alma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy L. Dolloff, brother Leonard (Joe) Fisher, both of Alma and brother-in-law, Lee D. Grandy, of Midland.

Pursuant to Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug’s memory to the American Heart Association.
