Donald T. Willett, age 81, of Alma, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Schneppʼs Health Care Center in St. Louis, surrounded by his immediate family.

Don was born February 8, 1931, in Crystal, Michigan, the son of Marshall and Hester (McNinch) Willett. He married Flossie Kimmel on January 30, 1965, in North Star. She preceded him in death on August 12, 2009. He worked in assembly for GM in Lansing for 39 years.

Don was a member of the Alma Church of the Nazarene and loved going to church. He was also very social and loved talking to people, laughing, flirting, and playing bingo. He loved his family and enjoyed taking the kids fishing when they were young.

Don is survived by his children, Roger Kimmel of Lake George, Kathy (Rodney) Noel of Alma, Corinna (Jon) Latoski of Alma, and Pat (Clarence) Smith of Alma; Grandsons, Jon Kimmel of Chicago and Tom Kimmel of Harrison, and 15 other grandchildren; and one great granddaughter, Ellianna; and his brothers and sister, Bill (Margie) Willett of St. Johns, Velma Willett of Duck Lake, and Lavern Willett of Newaygo. He was preceded in death by his children, Carolyn and Daniel; and his sisters, Sally Reynelds and Evelyn Hair.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, at the Alma Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Bob Mitchell and Pastor Clarence Smith officiating. Interment will follow in North Star Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Monday, October 29, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, and Tuesday, October 30, at the Alma Church of the Nazarene from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
