Donald Hyde, age 79, of Ithaca, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend; born to Delores and Sebern (Earl) Hyde on February 22, 1933 in Wyndotte, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Saturday morning, May 12, 2012.
Don's memory lives on as he is survived by his loving wife Shirley Hyde; his daughters Robyn Rimington (Doug), Julia Kellogg (Matt) and Tami Sabo; his sons Thomas Hyde (Toni) and Barry Hyde; and by two sisters and six Grandchildren. He also had many nieces and nephews.
Donald was a true Patriot, having served his country faithfully in the United States Navy, the United States Air Force and throughout the world in the Central Intelligence Agency. Later in life Don served as a private consultant to both the government and private sector before retiring to the farm in Ithaca, MI where he and Shirley shared Don's final years together.
A service will be held Memorial Day weekend (Friday May 25, 2012) so family and friends may honor, remember, and say goodbye to a man who gave so much of his life to his country and to others. Services will held at the Barden Funeral Home (225 W. Center St., Ithaca, Michigan). Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am; a memorial Service will be held at 11:00am; and luncheon will follow at the Ithaca Community Center (120 N. Maple St., Ithaca, Michigan). The family has requested that any donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
