Don J. Edgar

Don J. Edgar, age 81 of Ithaca, passed away August 10, 2016 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland.

Don was born June 27, 1935 to Sherman J. and Letha (Perdue) Edgar in Alma, Michigan. He worked for Consumer’s Energy for many years. Don enjoyed hunting deer, fishing, and playing cards at the Ithaca Senior Activity Building. He also enjoyed visiting with people. Don was a member of the Bannister United Methodist Church.

Don is survived by his wife Doris; sons Todd (Bobbi) Edgar of Arkansas and Tim (Jody) Edgar of Arizona; step children, James (Wendi) Valentine of Morrice, Brian (Elaine) Valentine of Elsie, Bruce (Crista)  Valentine of Bannister, Vicki (Dennis) Van Allsburg of California; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Arlan L. and Richard Edgar; and sisters Beverly Teeters and Belva Zimmerman.

Funeral services for Don will be 11am Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Pastor Mona Dye will officiate and burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Sunday, August 14 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bannister United Methodist Church.
