Dennis Leon Carroll, age 58, of Leota passed away Friday, September 16th 2016 with family and friends by his side.
Dennis was born November 15, 1956 to Otto and Thelma (McConnell) Carroll in Bellaire, Michigan. He married his longtime companion Jane Smith, July 16, 2011, they had been together since 1983.
Dennis was an Army veteran and retired tree trimmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, horseshoes, and going to the annual St. Ignace Car Show and camping on the Lake Michigan shoreline.
He loved to spend time with family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He also had an enormous love for all animals and enjoyed bird watching.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Carroll, two daughters, Jamey Smith and Angie Lee, two sons Josh Carroll and Steven Johnson, six grandchildren, six sisters Eilene (Ken) Buelher, Karen Rockafellow, Gloria (Bruce) Stevens, Pam (Paul) Blevins, Colette (Brian) Ole, Diana (Kieth) Kushion, two brothers Russell Carroll and Ric Carroll, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Otto and Thelma Carroll, one sister Marietta Carroll, one brother Jerry Carroll, and two nieces Denise Ramsey and Karie Bonneau.
There will be a memorial service in honor of Dennis 4pm Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Fulton Township Hall with Pastor Karen Messmer officiating.
