Debra Sue Carman

     Debra Sue Carman, age 60, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, with Pastor Randy Peterson officiating. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star Twp., MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
     Debra was born in St. Johns, MI on May 4, 1966, the daughter of Carl John and Dorothy Jeanette (VanElls) Witt. She graduated from St. Johns High School, with the Class of 1984. On July 19, 1986, she married Gordon Carman in North Star, MI. They were blessed with over 40 years of marriage prior to her passing.
    Debra worked at Mercantile Bank wearing many hats until she landed in her final position as a Deposit Operations Specialist. She dedicated 26 years to her career before her retirement.
     Debra was an excellent baker, and could bake anything her heart desired. She passed the love down to her grandchildren, who would join her in the kitchen from time to time.
    Family was everything to her. Debra loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids however she could, whether it be boat rides on the lake, or going to their activities and sporting events. She was the best cheerleader for her loved ones.
     Debra was a strong person, a devoted wife, and a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, and sister. She will be deeply missed by those who greatly loved her. Debra lived life one day at a time.
     She is survived by her husband Gordon Carman; her children: Jeanie (Jim Joslin) Carman, Kimberly Carman, Dawn Carman, Lindsay (John) Koski, Darren Carman, Amber (Corey) Gossett, and Victoria Carman; 13 grandchildren: Devan, Frankie (Kayla), Ariana (Amy), Andrea, Gordon, Evelyn, Kyla, Michael, Nolyn, Aubrey, Owen, Deklyn, and Camrie; three great-grandchildren: Emmersyn, Lillian, and Kyler. She is also survived by her mother Dorothy Jeanette Witt; special niece Ali Carman; siblings: Terry (Joan) Witt, Dave (Sally) Witt, and Diane Witt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. She also leaves behind her dear grand-dog Bella. Debra was preceded in death by her father Carl Witt; brother Daniel Witt; and in-laws Vern and Imogene Carman.
