Deanna Lynn Herrington

October 15, 1957 — April 7, 2024

Fort Wayne

      Deanna Lynn Herrington, age 66, of Fort Wayne, IN, formerly of Marlette, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after battling a brief illness on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at her sons home. 

      Cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held at Burnside Cemetery in Burnside Township, MI at a later date. 

     Deanna was born in Marlette, Michigan on October 15, 1957, the daughter of Wilbert and Norma (Muxlow) Kalbfleisch. Deanna graduated from Brown City High School with the class of 1975.

      Deanna co-owned & operated a photography business out of her home for 30 years in Marlette, MI. She helped capture and edit many special moments for her community.  Deanna was a talented pianist and enjoyed playing for her church. She looked forward to trips to Florida to visit her sister Cheri and family. She valued many lifelong friendships.

      She was a wonderful mother who was always there to support her sons. Deanna enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandsons: Liam and Crew. She will be remembered for being selfless, sweet, and always having a positive attitude. Her love for God was known by everyone around her. 

     She is survived by her husband Daniel Herrington of Ft. Wayne, IN; sons: Ryan and Rachael Scott of Grand Rapids, MI; Matthew and Lindsey Scott of St. Johns, MI; grandsons: Liam and Crew Scott; sister Cheri and Lenny Mitchell of Apopka, FL; nephew Eric and Melissa Mitchell of Apopka, FL; niece Andrea and Chris Beebe of Windermere, FL; great- nephews: Kaden and Makai Beebe and Nathan and Noah Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

      Memorials may be made to Community Christian Church, 400 E. State Street, St. Johns, MI 48879. Online condolences can be sent to www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, Michigan.
