Daylene Rose (Hagerman) Sadler, age 85, formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. Private burial will take place at East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. A luncheon will take place at First Baptist Church following services.
Daylene was born at St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Michigan on August 11, 1940, the daughter Donald "Dayle" and Emma Rosella "Rose" (Morphy) Hagerman. Daylene married Jerry Ewing Sadler, on July 2, 1985; they were married in her sister's backyard in Lansing, MI. After Daylene and Jerry married they moved to the Tampa, FL area. They were married thirty-two years prior to his passing on July 3, 2017.
She graduated from Eastern High School, Lansing, Michigan with the Class of 1958. Daylene not only was a great financial employee. She went on to work in the finance industry, first for LAFCU, then for MSUFCU, where she retired in 1985. After moving to Florida, she returned to work full-time at Sun Coast Credit Union where she wore many hats.
Daylene was the designated family historian - traveling around the world with her husband, Jerry, to research her family roots. Jerry was retired from the military.
She is survived by her children: Kristy (Foress) and Troy Agler of Potterville, MI; and Stacy Swanson of Lansing, MI; her sister Elaine (Hagerman) Young; her five grandchildren: Sarah Rose (Wesley) Gravatt, Troy Alan (Emily) Agler, Marshall Jacob (Elizabeth) Swanson, Matthew Allen (Kayelene) Swanson, and Miranda Jo (Justen) Zemla; fourteen great-grandchildren: Jaedyn, Dylan, Dalena, Rocky, Luke, Denny, Reagan, Emma, Alexia, Charlotte, Abbigale, Mac, Callen, and Beckette; nephew Mark (Amy) Young; two step-daughters: Julie Ann (Frank) Herrell of TN; and Janie Vanderberg of MI; and many other Sadler family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents; her niece Dana Young; her brother-in-law James Young.
