Dawn Marie Kajdas

     Dawn Marie Kajdas, age 63, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023, at her home.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 4, 2023, with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

     Dawn was born in St. Johns, MI on December 6, 1959 the daughter of Stanley C. and Leota M. (Stewart) Kajdas.  She was a graduate of Ovid- Elsie High School and later earned an Associate’s Degree at Davenport University.

     Dawn worked at Capital Area Community Services in St. Johns as a Homeless Assistance Program Specialist.  She was an avid reader.  Dawn loved her two dogs, Akita and Apollo. She enjoyed camping and boating. Dawn also had a love of scrap booking. 

     She is survived by her son Cory Sheldon of St. Johns, MI; her siblings: Ronald Kajdas of Elsie, MI; Susan and Dr. Robert Peterson of Elsie, MI; Diane and Dr. Douglas Saylor of Chicago, IL.  Dawn is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
