David Schmidt

David Raymond Schmidt age 64 went to be with the Lord on the 27th of June 2004 from his residence in Mt. Morris, Michigan.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 12:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Cemetery Chapel in St. Louis, Michigan. Pastor Tim Look & Pastor Audrey Carlton will officiate.
David was born on February 29, 1940 in Alma, Michigan the son of Jacob & Anna ( Simonovic ) Schmidt. He graduated from Alma High School in 1959 and Mott Community College in 1973. He married Sharon Lee DeLine at the First Baptist Church in St. Louis, MI, on December 1, 1962. David served in the United States Army 92nd Transportation Company in Frankfurt, Germany from 1963 to 1965. He worked in the grocery business in Alma & Flint, MI for 47 years. Twenty-six of those years were spent as manager of Skyway Supermarket in Flint. David enjoyed hunting, bird watching, and polka music.
Left to cherish his memory is: his wife Sharon L. Schmidt of Mt. Morris, MI, son Mark D. Schmidt of Mt. Morris, MI, daughter Heather L. Schmidt of Chase, MI and Jim Bailey of Cadillac, MI, brother Richard & Charlene Schmidt of Alma, MI, sister Barbara & Lee Taylor of Lansing, MI, step granddaughter Amber Kelly of Belding, MI, several nieces & nephews, uncle & aunt Leroy & Millie Pankrac of Berwyn, IL, aunt Susie Yedenak of Berwyn, IL, aunt Lillian Lapekes of Grand Rapids, MI and his dog Weinstein. He is predeceased by his grandparents, parents, several aunts & uncles, and best friend Walead D. Asmar.
Memorial may be made to Carriage Town Mission in Flint, Michigan. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
