    David Richard Gault, age 84, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026, at his home.

     A Memorial Service will be held at St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, with Dr. Keith Wise, Pastor Jut Daron, Pastor Jason Marsh, and Pastor Ted Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 5-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI and will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.

     David was born in St. Louis, Michigan on June 24, 1942, the son of Richard and Dorothy (Rogers) Gault. He was a graduate of Ithaca High School with the Class of 1961, and furthered his education at Owosso Bible College. On June 22, 1961, he married Janet L. Rierson at Pilgrim Holiness Church in Alma, MI. They traveled to Tacoma Washington for their honeymoon. David honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force while stationed in Tacoma, Washington.

     David retired from Lobdell Emery Manufacturing in Alma. Over the years he also was employed at Beebe Furniture in Ithaca and as a custodian at the Ithaca Methodist Church. He had a fondness for classic cars, he would draw and built model cars. David and Janet loved to camp at Lakeview United Methodist Church Campground until 2020, then camped at Edmore Family Campground from 2022, until present. They also took multiple trips over the years, visiting Spain, the Smokey Mountains, Bronson and Niagara Falls. David loved to boat and go fishing, he also loved participating in the 4th of July Boat Parade. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. Most recently he took comfort in watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and Bill and Gloria Gaither Singers. He was a member of St. Louis Church of Christ.

     He is survived by his wife Janet Gault of Ithaca, MI; son Raymond and Betty Gault of Riverdale, MI; and daughter Tammie and Troy Estill of Charlotte, MI; grandchildren: Lindsey and Thomas McCarthy, Bethany and Logan Walters, Andrea and Blake Blocher, Raychelle and Kenny Avery, Tyler and Allie Estill, Tara Estill and Jonathon Petzak; great-grandchildren: Leanna, Zane, Asher, and Eva McCarthy, Layton, Novaley, Mylz, and Niko Walters, Jacob and Caleb Blocher, Rakenna Christensen, Bentley, Kendalynn, and Brayson Avery; sister Cheryl Moyer and Neal Rolfzen; sister Gail and Dana Bliss; brother Robert Gault; in-laws: George and Phyllis Rierson, and Linda and Victor Oswald. David was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Anna Gault, and sister Sherrie Sattler.
