David James Elsesser

 David James Elsesser, age 49, of Sumner, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Laurels of Fulton, Perrinton, MI.  Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, with Pastor Bob Menzel officiating. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ithaca, MI. A luncheon will take place at M-46 Tabernacle Church, 11098 East Howard City-Edmore Road, Riverdale, MI 48877, following the burial. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI and again on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. David was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky on April 9, 1976, the son of Bruce and Zeda (Roberts) Elsesser. He loved watching tv and movies. David enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He attended Ithaca High School and the Ithaca Wesleyan Church. David lived at the Laurels of Fulton for over 20 years, where he made many friends. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and kindness.  He is survived by his mother Zeda and Dale Bish of Sumner, MI; father Bruce Elsesser; his siblings: Paul Elsesser, Michael Bish, Jennifer Stevens, James and Malissa Bish, and Lacey and Maxwell. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his step-mother Kathy Elsesser, and his grandparents. Memorials may be made to the M-46 Tabernacle Church, 11098 E. Howard City-Edmore Rd., Riverdale, MI 48877.
