David Michael Beno

     David Michael "Dave" Beno, age 67, of Ovid, MI, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 19, 2024 with Rev. Fr. Andizej Boroch presiding. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 4-8 P.M. and Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Visitation will also be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the mass at the church.
     David was born in St. Johns, MI on July 24, 1956, the son of Joseph John and Anna Theresa (Fabus) Beno. Dave was a graduate of Ovid-Elsie High School with the Class of 1974. Dave married Kathy Maynard on September 12, 1987, in St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Bannister.
     Dave owned and operated Dave's General Repair for over 40 years. His customers were a second family to him. He enjoyed spending time at Crystal Lake, fishing, and hunting. Dave loved cooking and entertaining for friends and family. Saturday mornings were spent with his wife going to the market, breakfast, and grocery store shopping. Dave's infectious personality and sense of humor brought joy to all and he will be deeply missed.
     He is survived by his wife Kathy Beno of Ovid, MI; 3 children: Kaitlyn Beno and her fiancé, Jared Mentink of Eaton Rapids, MI; Kessey Beno and her significant other, Darius Scott of Canton, MI; Michael David Beno and his fiancée', Courtney Kusnier of Portland, MI; grand-animals: Chezi, Yaeger, and Rosie; 2 brothers: Joseph Beno, Jr. and Fred Beno both of Elsie, MI; sister Janet Beno of Haslett, MI; in-laws Robb and Mary Lou Maynard of Elsie, MI; brother-in-law Ron and Sarah Maynard of Elsie, MI; sister-in-law Carol and Rick Kusnier of Elsie, MI; and brother-in-law Ricky and Christine Maynard of Kentucky and nieces and nephews, cherished friends: Rick Kusnier, Randy Bowles, and his fellow lake family. Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
