David Lee Acre

     David Lee Acre, age 80, of Elsie, MI, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025, at his home.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, with Pastor Phillip Rogers officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
     David was born in Durand, Michigan on June 13, 1945, the son of Paul Orin and Bessie Herrick (Woods) Acre. He graduated from Elsie High School, with the Class of 1963.
     David was a dedicated 5th generation farmer. When he wasn't tending to the family farm, he was out deer hunting.
     He is survived by his brother Dean (Ronda) Acre of Elsie, MI; his nephews: Michael (Kristi McDevitt) Watson of Oxford, MI; Corey Acre of Elsie, MI; and Ryan (Jamie) Acre of Elsie, MI; and his favorite nieces: Hope Watson of Oxford, MI; and Holly Watson of Oxford, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Dan Acre; cousins: Violet Levey, Howard Kimball, and Bonnie Kimball; and good friend Herm Kaufman.
     The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Tonya Merrill and Jamie Acre for their special care and attention to David's comfort and medical care.
