Darrell Franklin Holmes

     Darrell Franklin Holmes, of Saginaw, MI formerly of St. Louis, MI. Beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Schnepp Health Care & Rehab Center, St. Louis, MI. He was 86 years old.
     Darrell was born in Rose Township, MI on July 21, 1939, the son of Ardie and Kitty Leona (Wiles) Holmes. He honorably served his country from 1959-1965, in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany.
     He retired from Consumers Power. Darrell loved fishing, camping at Interlochen State Park and collecting a wide variety of coins. Darrell loved a good flea market and garage sale to find special treasures.
     He is survived his daughter Becky and Doug Bukantis of Ovid, MI; and their children: Brandon, Parker (Lexi Hass), Hunter, and Hadley; daughter Kathy Gonzales of Saginaw, MI and her children: Anthony (Emily) and Arlin; sister-in-law Betty Holmes of St. Louis, MI; brother-in-law Richard and Carol Lounsbery of Kissimmee, FL; many nieces and nephews. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, former spouse Nancy Holmes, son-in-law Anthony Gonzales, brothers R.J. Holmes and Leroy "Ike" Holmes, sisters Irene (Don) Hadley and Dorothy (Milton) Grubaugh.
     A Private Graveside Service will be held at Elm Hall Cemetery, Sumner Township, MI on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
