Darrell Dee Breidinger

      Darrell Dee Breidinger, age 87, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.

      Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, with Pastor Carl Cecil officiating.  Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. 

      Darrell was born in Alma, Michigan on October 4, 1936, the son of Newell and Lizzie (Lockwood) Breidinger. He was raised in Wheeler and graduated from Breckendridge High School with the class of 1954. 

      Darrell was a supervisor with Dow Corning and retired in 1987. While working at Dow he was drafted during the Korean War and he proudly served his country in the United States Army. In his younger years he worked at Hess Duck Farm. He enjoyed traveling and visited many places throughout the United States. He was a wonderful husband and a very supportive father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. 

      He is survived by his daughter Dawn Breidinger and Adam Deitrich; his son Greg Breidinger; his step-son Rod Simons; and grandson Gage Warren and his family; and Farwell family. Darrell felt blessed to have two loves during his lifetime and he was preceded in death by both of his wives: Dorothy Breidinger & Doris Breidinger, his parents, one daughter Terri Colburn, his great-grandson Steven and his siblings.
