Dale A. Lott, age 82, of St. Louis, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at Ashley Care Center.

Dale was born in Middleton, MI on September 12, 1934, the son of Francis Freeman and Belva Irene (Bordine) Lott.  He graduated from Ithaca High School, and on June 18, 1955 he married his first love, Marilyn Kay Dougherty.

Dale was employed at General Motors in Lansing and was a skilled tradesman, retiring after 39 1/2 years of service.  He then worked for Gainey Trucking Corporation of Grand Rapids and later became a security guard for Alma Products.

Dale was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He enjoyed any event which included his family.  He was a great conversationalist to one and all.  He enjoyed hunting and camping, especially at Mackinaw City, and loved keeping his lawn and flower garden perfectly groomed.  He was a member of the Wesleyan Church for many years, and recently attended the St. Louis Church of Christ.

Dale is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn; his children, Patrick (Margaret) Lott, Lee (Sue) Lott, and Linda (Rick) Bongard; his son-in-law, Kevin (Colleen) Kleinhans; nine grandchildren: Brian (Patty) DuBois-Kleinhans, Katie (Josh) Nelson,Ryan (Stephanie) Lott, Jaime Lott, Jeffery Lott (Crystal Dietrich), Andrea Lott (James York), Reid Lott, Zachary (Valeria) Bongard, and Leighanna Brown; twelve great grandchildren, Alex, Jayden, and Skylar DuBois-Kleinhans, Victoria Seward, Marshall and Sonora Lott, and baby boy due in June, Elijah, Lucas, and Arianna Bongard, Jacob, Makenzie, and Kayleigh Brown; his sister, Gladys (Lynn) Cratsenburg; three step brothers, Bill (Jackie) Hill, Roy Hill, and Carl (Diane) Hill; and his step sister, Nila Marshall.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Kay Kleinhans; his brothers, Ronald, Duane, Roland, and Ivan Lott; and his sisters, Wanda Elliott, Coleta Scott, Donnella Silsbury, and Sheila Jarman.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with Pastor Justin Daron officiating.  Interment will follow in North Star Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 13.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.  Condolences may be left for the family online at www.bardenfuneralhome.com.
