Cynthia Ann Jones

     Cynthia Ann Jones, age 73, of St. Louis, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Isabella County Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
     Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, Michigan, on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. A Prayer and Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 2:30 P.M. with Mr. Mark Monroe officiating; a Vigil and Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. led by Romona Garza, at the funeral home. 
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity of the Lord Parish, Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Louis, MI, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Daniel Christe presiding. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 2-6 P.M. at the American Legion, 1329 Michigan Avenue St. Louis, MI.
     Cynthia was born on April 5, 1953, Alice, Texas, the daughter of Raul and Aurora Davila. As a younger girl, she moved with her family to St. Louis, Michigan, where she would spend the rest of her life building a family and a legacy of her own.
     If there was one thing Cynthia loved the most, it was her family. She was the proud mother of nine children: three daughters and six sons. She worked numerous jobs throughout her life, raised nine children and spent her later years doing crafts with her dog Alice always by her side.
     Cynthia lived life on her own terms. She had a fiery spirit, a quick wit, and a heart that was far bigger than she’d ever admit. She was strong-willed, stubborn, and never one to hold back her opinion. If you wanted honesty, you asked Cynthia –because she would tell you exactly what she thought, whether you were ready to hear it, or not.
     She loved going to the casino and playing the slots. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, which she’d make you play whether you knew how to, or not! Most of all, she rejoiced in having her family gathered around her. She had a remarkable way of making something out of almost nothing. With just a pound of hamburger, she could prepare a meal that fed her growing family, a trait that has been passed down, and remembered with love.
     She believed in God, family, tough love, and maintaining a strong family bond. Though her love wasn’t always wrapped in soft words, it was constant and unmistakable. She opened her home and her heart to many over the years, offering shelter, laughter, and an unconditional love that left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
     Her greatest accomplishment was not found in a career or her possessions, but in the generations of family she leaves behind. Her strength, resilience, humor, and unwavering love will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
     She is survived by her children: Ambria Davila (Aniano) of Clare, Michigan; Andrea Jones (Randy) of Alice, Texas; Adrian Jones (Jennifer) of Flushing, Michigan; Aaron Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; Anthony Jones (Floragato) of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; Maximiano Ramirez (Nina) of Mt. Pleasant, MI; Arica Martinez (Ervin) of Corpus Christi, Texas; John Ramirez of Lansing, Michigan; and Adam Ramirez (Amanda) of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brothers: Raul Garza and Rick Davila of St. Louis, Michigan; her sisters: Maria Davila of St. Louis, Michigan; Linda Nevergall of Celina, Ohio; and Rachel Coston of Tiverton, Rhode Island; several “adopted” children who became family; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raul and Aurora Davila; her brother Romeo Garza; her sister Sylvia Davila; and her sister-in-law Norma Garza.
     To know Cynthia was to know someone who loved fiercely, laughed loudly, spoke honestly, and never pretended to be anyone but herself. She leaves behind a family that is stronger because of her, memories that will be cherished forever, and a love that will continue to bind them together for generations to come. The family would like to thank everyone who spent time with mom praying, caring, or just visiting her these past few months. We are forever grateful for the loved showered on her.
