Cynthia Jane Burke

       Cynthia Jane "Cindy" Burke, age 67, of Alma, MI, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.

       Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 P.M.  A private burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI.

       Cynthia was born in Alma, Michigan on August 12, 1956, the daughter of Francis Wesley and Geraldine Joy (Barto) Chaffin. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the Class of 1975. On August 15, 2004, Cynthia married Timothy R. Burke in Saginaw, MI. She said, "He was the best husband ever!!!"

      Cindy showed her love by her cooking. She could fix enough food to feed an army. She enjoyed movies and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her home and heart were always open for everyone. She devoted her life to studying God's word in the Bible and was a member of Community Church.

      She is survived by her husband Tim of Alma, MI; three children: Anthony (Jenna) Ostrander of Alma, MI; Amanda (Gabriel) Engeland of Los Altos, CA; and Eric Ostrander of Alma, MI; eight grandchildren:  Madison, Meadow, Mason, Parker, Arlo, Winter, Ellie, and Lennox; her brother Keith, (Donnalea) Chaffin; one sister Connie (Steven) Needham; and many nieces and nephews. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Robert Chaffin and Charlie Chaffin, also her sisters: Patricia Chaffin and Judy Chaffin.
