Cora Evelyn Mccreery

Cora Evelyn McCreery, age 72, of Sumner, died December 24, 2015.

Cora was born September 2, 1943 in Dewajiac, the daughter of Clayton and Josephine (Kwast) Goff.  Her life was about her family.  She was a good mother who loved her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed sewing and embroidery, as well as canning, playing the piano and singing.  She had great faith, loved Christmas, and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Cora is survived by her husband, LeRoy M. MCreery of Sumner; her children, Sharon Kay (Chris Dowd) Ernest of Alabama, Sandra (Michael) Dawkins of Alabama, Mishele (Doug) Johnson of Tekonsha, MI, Lisa (Alan) Gager of Manistee, and Shasta McCreery of Sumner; her step children, LeRoy McCreery of Oregon, LeAnn (Bob) Griffin of Sumner, and Brian (April) McCreery of Crystal; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; her sister, Nina; and her brothers, Clayton and Jerry.  She was preceded in death by her son, Clennon Lee Hamilton; and her sister, Janet.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca.
