Constance Yelsik

Constance Virginia Yelsik, age 97, of Ashley, MI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family's love Friday, August 28, 2020, at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, Lansing.

A Private Family Funeral Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Friday, September 4, 2020, with Pastor Dave Perry officiating. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI.

Constance was born in Sanford, ME on January 14, 1923, the daughter of Edward Peter and Lily Eleanor (Rowland) Moy.  In 1946 she married Dennis J. Ballard; He preceded her in death in 1971. On November 3, 1973, Constance married Dwight "Arnold" Yelsik in Ashley, MI.  He passed away on June 18, 2012 after 38 years of marriage.  Constance loved to travel, play cards, polka, and watch her grandkids sporting events with Arnold.

Constance is survived by her 7 children: James (Gail) Finn of Birch Run, Bonita (Charles) Kebler of St. Johns, Raymond (Martha) Ballard of Tony, Alabama, Donna (Emerson) Stockwell of St. Johns, John (Ginny) Ballard of St. Johns, Patricia (Mervin) Cotes of East Lansing, and Joanne (Randy) Camp of Indiana; 5 step-children: Connie (Bruce) Andersen of Ashley, Charles (Jody) Yelsik of Ashley, Mary (Harlan) Bearden of Houghton Lake, Joyce (Jim) Losen of East Lansing, and Joseph (Deana) Yelsik of Ashley. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Constance was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Dennis, husband Arnold, 4 granddaughters: Angie Renee Stockwell, Amanda Jo Bearden, Michelle M. Ballard Floyd, and Heather Marie Ballard Mason; and all of her siblings.
