     It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie Marie (First) Weller, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born in Alma, MI, on July 26, 1947, to John and Loretta First (McWilliams), Connie was a beacon of love and joy to all who knew her. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on July 12, 2024.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. H. Jack Miller, Jr., officiating. Burial will take place at Payne Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 2-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
     Connie married the love of her life, Ronald Kent Weller, on January 13, 1965. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: John (Karen) Weller, Annette (Kevin) Collison, and Michelle (Barry) Davis. Her love extended deeply to her eight beloved grandchildren: Jennifer (Greg) Morrison, Britnee (Hayden) Neitzke, Megan (Jack) Versau, Brooke (Jared) Kuehnlein, Nick (Sidanna) Collison, Josh (Jenn) Weller, Ashlee Davis (Trevor Balgavy), and Nathan (Olivia) Davis. Connie also had the joy of nurturing twelve great-grandchildren, with whom she shared countless treasured moments.
   Connie is survived by her her husband Ronald Weller, her children: John (Karen) Weller, Annette (Kevin) Collison, and Michelle (Barry) Davis; her eight beloved grandchildren: Jennifer (Greg) Morrison, Britnee (Hayden) Neitzke, Megan (Jack) Versau, Brooke (Jared) Kuehnlein, Nick (Sidanna) Collison, Josh (Jenn) Weller, Ashlee Davis (Trevor Balgavy), and Nathan (Olivia) Davis; her twelve great-grandchildren;  brother Douglas (Jackie) First, sister and brother-in-law Dick (Kathy) Weller, and sisters-in-law: Patricia Houlden and Sally Weller. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Loretta First, her in-laws Wayne and Helen Weller, and her brothers-in-law: James Weller and Larry Houlden.
      As the matriarch of the family, she devoted her days caring for her family and working closely with Ron and family on the dairy farm, Connie played an active role in both the farm and the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She retired to Florida during the winter many years ago, but she used FaceTime and family visits to Florida to remain a very special part of her family’s lives.
     She had a remarkable bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that was truly special and unique. She spoke with them daily, sharing stories, wisdom, and laughter. She was not just a grandmother, but a best friend, confidante, and mentor to them all. Her home was always filled with the joyful noise of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as she made every effort to spend time with them at every opportunity. Her presence was a constant source of love, support, and inspiration. Connie relished in the laughter and love of three generations, witnessing the close bonds she helped to create and nurture. Known for her vibrant spirit and boundless energy, Connie truly enjoyed every moment spent with her family.
     Connie Marie Weller will be remembered for her spunk, confidence, courage, dedication to her family, and unwavering love. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories of her kindness and the joy she brought into their lives.
