Coleen Ann Trexler

     Coleen Ann Trexler, age 90, of Ithaca, Michigan, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Maple View Assisted Living, Ithaca, Michigan.

       Coleen was born on January 24, 1932, to Bernard and Nilah Cumming of Ithaca, Michigan. She was a lifelong resident of Ithaca, MI. She graduated from Ithaca High School and Central Michigan College. Her time working outside the home was for the local bank.

     She was married to Larry Trexler for 68 years. Their two sons are: Scott (Terrie) Trexler of Oregon and David (Glenda) Trexler of West Michigan; one grandson, Joshua (Stephanie) Trexler; and a great-granddaughter Ava Trexler; and one sister-in-law Kathryn (S.J.) Moreman; and also nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Nilah Cummings, her sister Phyllis (Bart) Barnes, and Connie (Mike) Malloy.

     Coleen and Larry traveled to England several times, Italy, Mexico City, Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Bahamas, as well as most of the USA. They enjoyed camping when their children were young, spending time at the family cottage, and some winters in Arizona.  She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, cooking, baking, antique collecting, and music.

     Coleen belonged to bridge clubs, the Gratiot Community Hospital Auxiliary, Gratiot Historical Society, P.E.O., and the Ithaca First Presbyterian Church.  Coleen compiled a cookbook for the Gratiot County Historical Society and then compiled a cookbook of her favorite recipes for her family and friends.

     A Celebration of Life and Love will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11:30 A.M., with Mr. Mark Monroe officiating.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
