Clara Mae Cermak

     Clara Mae Cermak,age 91, of Elsie, MI, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, with Rev. Fr. Andizej Boroch presiding. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Elba Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.
     Clara was born in Lafayette Township, Michigan on January 17, 1934, the daughter of Francis and Anna Belle (Parks) Wagner. She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Merrill. Clara married Frank R. Cermak on June 11, 1955. They were blessed with 28 years of marriage prior to his passing June 10, 1983. Clara spent many years working alongside her husband in Elsie at Cermak's TV. Clara and Frank had a hobby farm where she loved raising her chickens, cows, cats, and dogs. She enjoyed watching birds out the front window, gardening, and canning. Most of all she adored the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI.
     She is survived by her daughters: Theresa and Mike Phillips of Elsie, MI; Clara and William Nemcik of Elsie, MI; and Marilyn and James Coon of White Cloud, MI; her sons: Frank and Bonnie Cermak Jr., of Ashley, MI; Henry and Tammy Cermak Sr., of Elsie, MI; and Harold Porubsky of Brant MI; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mary Wolfe of Oakley, MI, her brother Henry and Joyce Wagner of St. Johns, MI, and best friend Shirley Tesarik of Bannister, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Frank.
