Cindy Marie (Boog) Wilson

      Cindy Marie Wilson, age 64, of Ashley, MI, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024, at her home. 

      Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 8, 2024, with Pastor Zella Daniel officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held on Thursday one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

     Cindy was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 24, 1959, the daughter of Carl E. and Ada Mae (Mohn) Boog. Cindy graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1977. She went on to Central Michigan University and obtained her bachelor degree in art.  Cindy married Thomas Wilson on November 1, 1986, at East Washington United Brethren Church, Ashley, MI. 

      From the time she was in high school Cindy developed a passion for art. She carried that throughout her entire life, majoring in art in college, owning and operating a screen printing business, eventually working seasonally for Uncle Johns Cider Mill and additionally volunteering at the Ashley Care Center which later evolved into becoming an activity coordinator there. She shared her gift of art through producing beautiful scrapbooks, invitations and greeting cards for family and friends. 

      After Cindy and Tom welcomed their sons, John and Carl, she became very involved in their school & fair activities. She was a member of the Ashley Community Schools Board of Education for more than 20 years. She enjoyed attending tractor pulls and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson Thomas.  

      She is survived by her husband Thomas Wilson of Ashley, MI; two sons: John Wilson (Hillary) of Bannister, MI; Carl and Krystin Wilson of St. Johns, MI; her grandson Thomas James Wilson; her mother Ada Boog of Bannister, MI; her sister Tammy and Bill Terrell of Bannister, MI; sister –in-law Julie and Jim McMahon of South Carolina.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Jenny and Eric Fabus, Jamie and Alex Jones, Billy Terrell (April), Bryan and Morgan Terrell, Craig, Patrick and, Eric McMahon and great-nieces and nephews: Bryce and Blayne Fabus, Macy, Maddie, and Colton Jones.  She was preceded in death by her infant brother, father Carl Boog, father and mother-in-law Bill and Ethel Wilson, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
