Charles Gene “Chuck” Leckenby

     Charles Gene "Chuck" Leckenby, age 72, of Henderson, MI, finished his 14 month battle with cancer Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Chesaning Nursing and Rehab Center, Chesaning with his family by his side.

     A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held at Chapin United Methodist Church Hall, Elsie, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 30, 2022. A private family burial will take place at Ridge Road Cemetery  Brady, MI. 

     Charles was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 27, 1949, the son Charles Leo and Virginia Jean (Bower) Leckenby. Chuck graduated from Chesaning High School. He earned his degree in engineering from Michigan Tech.

     On May 24, 1997, Charles married Deborah Lynne Thomas at Calvary Missionary Church in Livonia, MI. They have been blessed with 25 years of marriage.   Chuck was a quiet, simple man and a talented craftsman. He was a self-employed carpenter, cabinet maker and showcase designer. After his marriage to Deborah, he was a software engineer for Technomatic. Since 2009, he has owned and operated CAD to Chrome/Oakley Bike and Trike, Oakley, MI.

     He is survived by his mother Virginia Leckenby, wife Deborah, son Charles Brian (Tonya) Leckenby, three step-sons: Jason Beeney, Daiman (Amy Sheridan) Beeney, and Nathan (Sheila Larman) Beeney; and two grandsons: Charles Edward Leckenby, and Stylz Sheridan. He is also survived by brother Wesley (Theresa) Leckenby, two sisters: Linda Hansen and Marcia Crump; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Leo Leckenby.
