Casper Andrew “Cap” Daniels, age 83, of St. Louis, MI passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Masonic Pathways, Alma, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity of the Lord St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alma, MI on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Nathan Harburg officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Home, St. Louis, MI. Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Casper was born in Petoskey, Michigan on February 26, 1932, the son of Edward and Leona (Wagner) Daniel. Casper married Barbara Smith on August 26, 1950 in St. Louis, MI.
Casper retired from General Motors. He was a carpenter, building and remodeling multiple homes. He also was very good with finances. He loved to be outdoors, camping and hunting. He was a true woodsman with a green thumb. Casper had a great sense of humor, had a love for music and was a talented harmonica player. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Casper was a religious man and a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Alma, MI. Casper resided most of his life in Alma, MI.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Daniels of St. Louis, MI, daughter Vickie and Gordon Etheridge of Vanderbilt, MI, 2 sons; Bruce and Joy Daniels of St. Louis, MI, Brook and Dana Daniel of Ithaca, MI, grandchildren; Braden Fowler, April Fisher, Shawn Figueroa, Tara Etheridge, Melissa Hawley, Jeremy Daniels, Matthew Daniels, Tiffany Daniel, Zachary Daniel, many great-grandchilren and great-great-grandchildren, brother Harold Daniel, sister Dorothy Cowdrey, sister Rita and Gene Oswald, sister Bernadette and Don Howell, brother James and Sara Daniel, brother Dennis Daniel. Casper was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Valorie Daniels, granddaughter Tracie Cary, brothers; Joe Daniel, Walter Daniel, Raymond Daniel, Albert Daniel, Richard Daniel and Bernard Daniel, and sisters; Mary Daniel, and LaDonna Garrett.
