Carolyn Elizabeth (Siefka) Coston

     Carolyn Elizabeth Coston, age 88, of Alma, MI, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Gratiot.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 4, 2022, with Dr. Keith Wise officiating.  Burial will take place at Beebe Cemetery, Emerson Township, MI. Visitation will be held 4-8 P.M. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the funeral home.

     Carolyn was born in St. Louis, Michigan on December 12, 1933, the daughter Albert and Marjorie (Placeway) Siefka.  She graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1951.  Carolyn was a lifelong resident of St. Louis.  While her children were young, Carolyn dedicated herself to being a homemaker.  She then worked for Wilcox Nursing Home for over 30 years. 

     In retirement, Carolyn lived at Houghton Lake. She loved picnics in the woods, deer shining, mushroom hunting, sitting on the pontoon with her friends drinking coffee.  She was a dog and cat lover.  Carolyn enjoyed listening to music, making crafts to give to others, and playing cards. During the last several years at Warwick Living Center, she enjoyed giving gifts to the other residents and being involved in the activities there.

     Carolyn is survived by 3 children: Dennis (Sharon) Coston of Alma, MI; Sheila McElhaney of St. Louis, MI; and Julie Fuentes of St. Louis, MI; 6 grandchildren: Jennifer (Jose) Rojas, Eric Coston, Amanda Freed, Joel (Amanda) Fuentes, Bruce (Jenna) Coston, and Scott McElhaney; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and companion James Williams.
