Carol Mae Tugan, age 72, of Vestaburg, MI went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Lakeview Free Methodist Church, Lakeview, MI, on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor David Waid and Pastor Ted Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Richland Township Cemetery, Vestaburg, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI.

Carol was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on September 30, 1940, the daughter of Richard and Virginia (Fernald) Bond. She married Steven Tugan on June 22, 1958 in Maine. He passed away February 21, 2012. Carol retired after 25 years working as a seamstress at Michigan Masonic Home. She loved reading and sewing. Her favorite past time was playing cards with family and friends. Carol was always the person behind the camera at any event. She was a very active member of Lakeview Free Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son Steven and Sharon Tugan of Darden, TN, 5 daughters; Virginia and David Howell of Houghton Lake, MI, Linda Gray of Orange Park, FL, Gloria Tugan of Newaygo, MI, Sharon Tugan and Paul Proctor of Greenville, MI, Pam and Mike Soltow of Virginia Beach, VA, 10 grandchildren,
8 great grandchildren, brother John Oscar Bond of Maine, 2 sisters; Joyce and Richard Warrell of Conneticut, Norma and Fred Short of Maine, and multiple Tugan In Laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Steve, sister Beverly Ellis, and brother Dickie Bond.
