Bruno Joseph Cook, age 86, of Fowler, MI, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI, on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Dennis Howard officiating.  Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.. Rosary will be prayed on Sunday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. For those unable to attend the funeral mass, services will be live streamed on Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/MHTParish).

Bruno was born in Pewamo, MI on December 15, 1934, the son of Martin and Elizabeth (Pohl) Cook. He graduated from St. Johns High School. On June 23, 1962 Bruno married Mary Ann Thelen at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westphalia.

Bruno retired from General Motors as a millwright after 43 years of service. He enjoyed crosswords, bowling, gardening, and watching all types of sporting events. He also looked forward to fishing at Houghton Lake during the summer.

He was a member of the E.J. Werner VFW Post 3733 American Services. Bruno served his country in the United States Army in Darmstadt, Germany. He was also a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Fowler Eagles Athletic Boosters.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Cook of Fowler, MI, son Douglas and Maria Cook of DeWitt, MI, daughter Renee and Donald Desbles of Palatine, IL, grandchildren: Molly (Jameson) Cook of Grand Haven, MI, Abigail Cook of St. Johns, MI, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Gen Martin of Westphalia, MI, Bernice Thelen of Westphalia, MI and Larry and Jennette Thelen of Hastings, MI. He is also survived by caring and supportive nieces and nephews and fantastic neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Bob (Dorothy) Cook, Richard (Jeanine) Cook, Mildred LaPonsie, Lilly (Bob) Zimmer, Margie (Andy) Luttig, Raymond Cook, and  brothers-in-law: Roger Thelen and Fred Martin.

The family would like to thank Sparrow Hospice for the care they provided.
