Bonnie Lutz

Bonnie Jean Lutz, age 86, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, with Pastor Mike Briggs officiating.  Burial will take place at Payne Cemetery, Fulton Township, MI.  Visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Bonnie was born in Fulton Township, Michigan on September 19, 1934, the daughter of Hugh J. and Beulah P. (Gray) Payne.  She graduated from Fulton High School with the class of 1953.  Bonnie met Stanley A. Lutz 70 years ago at Fulton Center Methodist Church.  They were married on February 19, 1954 in Drayton Plains, MI.  They were blessed with 67 years of marriage together.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a former choir member, AWANA leader, and was active in the music program.

She is survived by her husband Stanley Lutz of St. Johns, MI; children: Mark A. and Patricia Lutz of St. Johns, MI, Marci and Lee Walker of Crestwood, KY, Pamela and Kenneth Scobell of Valley Mills, TX, and Jeana and Ray Snyder of Laingsburg, MI; 6 grandchildren: Meghann (Jeremy) Courliss, Nathaniel Lutz, David (Nicole) Walker, Mandi Walker, Will Snyder, and Luke Snyder and 6 great-grandchildren: Samuel and Jonathan Courliss, Tristan and Zoe Walker, and Libby and Wren Lutz and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Winton (Marlene) Payne, Wayland (Zelma) Payne, and Dona (Larry) Grubaugh.
