Beverly Jean Morton

     Beverly Jean Morton, age 80, of Alma, MI, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow, Lansing, MI.
     Per Beverly's wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
     Beverly was born in Alma, Michigan on June 9, 1945, the daughter of Robert D. and Ruth "Bette" (Comstock) Greening. She was a graduate of St. Louis High School with the Class of 1963. She married Philip James "Mort" Morton on October 20, 1979, at St. Louis United Methodist Church, St. Louis, MI. They were married for forty years prior to his passing on June 21, 2020.
     Beverly worked at the Bank of Alma, and for Traffic Management Services in Alma. She also worked at Double G Coaches, her family's business. Beverly loved to read and talk about what she read. Beverly adored being a grandmother, spending time with her grandchildren was very dear to her heart. Family get togethers brought her the greatest joy. She loved getting dressed up for parties and loved to travel, taking "the back roads". Her favorite place to visit was Mackinaw City and loved getting fudge from Mackinac Island. Beverly enjoyed casino trips with her friends and going to lunch. One of her favorite things was playing bingo.
     She is survived by her son Nick and Melissa Morton of Alma, MI; grandchildren: Adalynn Morton of Alma, MI, Liam Morton of Alma, MI, Kaeleigh Hoffer of Alma, MI; sister Debb Oatten of St. Louis, MI; brother Jim and Shirley Greening of St. Louis, MI; mother-in-law Mary Morton of Alma, MI; sister-in-law Sandy and Wayne Braun of Houghton Lake, MI; several nieces and nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bette Greening, her husband Philip "Mort” Morton, her brother Richard Greening, also brothers-in-law: Chuck Oatten and Fred Morton.
