Betty Louise Lane

Betty Louise Lane, age 91, of Ithaca, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Schnepp Health Care Center in St. Louis, with her family at her side.

Betty was born May 3, 1926, in St. Louis, the daughter of Willard Ralph and Orpha (Easlick) Cook.  She married Devere Lane on November 8, 1947.  He preceded her in death on August 1, 1997.  She enjoyed music jamborees, going to the cabin in Harrison, and watching birds (especially the Cardinals).  Most of all, she treasured the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty is survived by children, Ronald Lane  of Ithaca, and Cindy (Larry) Whitford of Ashley; her grandchildren Eric (Jennifer) Whitford, Jonathan (Jennifer) Whitford, Jared (Sara) Whitford, Angela (Joe) Aubin, Gary (Chrissy) Lane, and Nicole (Ryan) Wood; her great grandchildren, Eli and Henry Whitford, Brady, Lane, and Tucker Whitford, Madison and Wilford Whitford, Ruth Aubin, Kendall and Levi Lane, and Patrick and Thomas Wood; her brother, Robert (Logie) Cook; and her sisters-in-law, Karen Cook and Dorthea Lane; and many nieces and Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ervin, Gerald (Cookie), and Keith; and her sister, Bonnie Harkness.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 10. at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca with her nephew, Dana Lane officiating.  Interment will be in Chapel Gardens Cemetery in Elwell.  Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. until the start of the service at the Barden Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Ithaca Fire and Rescue or to Gratiot County Commission on Aging.  Condolences may be left for the family online at www.bardenfuneralhome.com.
