Betty Lou Lake

     Betty Lou Lake, age 99, of Laingsburg, MI, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at Family Affair Assisted Living, Haslett, Michigan.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 20, 2025, with Minister Gary Hawes officiating. Entombment will take place at Deepdale Memorial Cemetery Lansing, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
     Betty was born in Howell, Michigan on September 2, 1925, the daughter of Ernest and Harriett (Lowe) Lounsberry. She graduated from Howell High School with the class of 1943. On April 11, 1962, she married Melvin (LeRoy) Lake. LeRoy passed away on December 25, 1999. Betty worked for Fisher Body in Lansing Michigan for 25 years, retiring in 1975. She was a Rosie the Riveter during the war.
     She enjoyed Quilting and donated many quilts to area nursing homes and she won the Anne Easlick Shinning Volunteer award in 2007.
     She is survived by two: daughters: Melvia and Frank Quine of Ovid, MI; and Janine and Jamie Huver of Perrinton, MI; her grandchildren: Melissa and Kory Witt, Alicia and DJ Robbins, Anthony and Sara Janes, Janelle and Brandon Sines, Jessie Janes, Meg Quine and Richard Kremer, Heather and Emmit Keves, Michael Wooden, Christopher and Marjery Lake, Kevin and Maegan Lake, Douglas (Keith), and Naomi Lake, and Ryan and Dawn Lake. She is also survived by 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Paul Janes, granddaughter, Chelsea Janes, grandson, Benjamin Wooden, 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
