Betty Jean Davis, age 90, of Carson City, MI, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

In concern of current COVID conditions, a private funeral service for immediate family will be held at First Congregational Church, Carson City, MI, at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 21, 2022, with Pastor Steve Adamson officiating. The service will be live streamed on the Smith Family Funeral Homes Facebook page. Visitation for extended family and friends will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. at First Congregational Church. Masks will be required and will be provided at the church. Private burial will take place at Carson City Cemetery, Carson City, MI.

Betty was born in Crystal, Michigan on November 2, 1931, the daughter of Clifford Bernard and Verscil Bernice (Parrish) Jarstfer. Betty graduated from Carson City Schools with the class of 1949. She went on to receive her LPN and RN degree in nursing from MMCC.

Betty worked at Chrysler as a seamstress sewing car seats for about 20 years. After the factory closed she went to nursing school and became an LPN and later went back and became an RN working in the OB department at Carson City Hospital. She retired from the hospital on November 2, 1996.

Betty enjoyed stained glass, quilting, oil painting and puzzles. She also loved gardening, traveling with her children, and she recently became involved with the Carson City Historical Society.

She was a cherished member of the Carson City Congregational Church for many years where she taught Sunday school, was church treasurer, and involved in women's fellowship for 20 years.

She is survived by her children: Diane (Bob) Lynch of Mountain Home, ID, Lawrence "Larry" (Shelia) Davis of New Bern, NC, Susan (Norman) Davis of Sheridan, MI, Lynell (Mike) Wdovech of Bolingbrook, IL, and Bruce (Nanette) Davis of Kalamazoo, MI. She is also survived by grandchildren: Crystal Lynch, Robbie Lynch, Trisha (Josh) Lovett, Megan Davis and fiancé Nate Otte, Emily (Chris) Powell, Jim (Devon) Wdovech, Tom Wdovech and fiancé Alicia Raisor, 3 step-grandchildren: Logan (Lisa) Davis, Leyscha Davis and fiancé Robert, Brockk (Marcy) Davis, and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and step-father Alva Hevel, her brother Leroy Jarstfer, son Roy Gene Davis, and granddaughter Kimberly Ann Davis.
