Betty G. Cowles

     Betty G.”Betty Boop” Cowles, age 80, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Independence Village, Saginaw, MI.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity of the Lord Parish, Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Louis, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 16, 2025, with Rev. Fr. Fred Kawka presiding. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI, and also the hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. A Rosary will be prayed Thursday Evening at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
     Betty was born on May 2, 1945, to Gene and Charlotte Salisbury. She married Lee Cowles of Alma on September 7, 1968, in Irishtown, MI. She was a graduate of Shepherd High School, with the class of 1963. Betty worked at Total for 27 years after her retirement she worked for Dr. Dean for several years.
     Betty loved to play Euchre, go to the casino, golf and go to the CSA & Elks. She was a member at the Nativity of the Lord and was also a member of the CSA and the Saint Louis Moose.
     Betty is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Dave) Tenney of Freeland, MI; her son Greg Cowles of Mount Pleasant, MI; grandson Matthew Cowles of California; two sisters: Carol Ann of Winn, MI; and Mary (Chuck) Hoffman of Shepherd, MI; special neighbors: Dan (Linda) Rhoads; and special nephew Gary (Judy) Derry of Saint Louis, MI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee, her parents Gene and Charlotte Salisbury, and father and mother-in- law Gerald and Irene Cowles.
