     Betty Mae Black, age 88, of Middleton, Michigan, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing, Lansing, Michigan.
      Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, Perrinton, Michigan, at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with Rev. Fr. Edwin Dwyer officiating. Burial will take place at Fulton Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, Michigan, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday Evening at the funeral home.
     Betty was born in Weidman, MI, on June 20, 1936, the daughter of John and Katherine (Schafer) Cotter. She graduated from Beal City High School with the class of 1955. On October 6, 1956, she married Olan Black. She worked in the kitchen and retired from Fulton Schools.
      Betty enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles, and playing cards. She did all kinds of crafting projects. She was an accomplished yodeler and her grandchildren just loved it. She was a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church.
      She is survived by her husband, Olan Black of Middleton, MI; her children: Alan and Linda Black of Pacific, MO; Sue Waber of Ithaca, MI; Dennis and Pauline Black of Ithaca, MI; and Duane and Colleen Black of Ithaca, MI. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Erin and Rick Roesemeier, Keith and Megan Black, Tanner Black, Tyler Black, Amy and Scott Brindley, Ashley Waber, Travis and Allison Black, David and Jenna Black, Amber and Dylan Allen, Logan Black, Ryan Black, and Alicia Flegel; 18 great-grandchildren; her brother Ken Cotter; her sister-in-law Loretta Cotter; and brother-in-law Ray Pung. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Vada Howell, Irene Suman, and Ruth Pung, three brothers: Pat, Don, and Dave Cotter.
