Barbara Jean Werner

      Barbara Jean (Myers) Werner, age 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2025. She passed away at home surrounded by her loving family after a battle with cancer.
     A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at the Duplain Church of Christ, 5565 E Colony Rd, St. Johns, MI 48879 on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. with Mr. Andy Goodrich and Mr. Dan Cameron officiating.
     She graduated from Fulton High School and continued her education at MJ Murphy Cosmetology School. Barbara retired from Sealed Power Corporation in St. Johns, MI and enjoyed her retirement.
     Barbara married Gary Werner, Sr. on September 14, 1990, and celebrated 35 years of marriage. Their union brought together eight children. Barbara is survived by her husband, Gary, children: Keith (Jackie) Grubaugh, Karla (Kevin) Bradley, Kevin (Terri) Grubaugh, Kristen (Ted) Clark, Katherine (David) Newhall, Gary (Kim) Werner Jr., Jeffrey (Stacey) Werner, Todd (Stacy) Werner; 26 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren, and her brother Gary Myers.
     First and foremost, Barbara will be forever remembered for her love for Christ and, in the same way, she loved her family. She had an open door for those in need of a bed and a warm meal. She loved animals and rescued all that were in need. She enjoyed working in her beautiful flower gardens, camping, and was a talented quilter making them for family weddings and for all the newborn grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family loved her cookies, pies and special desserts. She enjoyed her quilting and bible study groups. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and love for her family, friends and her animals. She was a role model and treasured by her family whose lives will be changed forever because of her.
     Barbara was preceded in death by her father Lloyd Myers, mother Alberta (Bill) Kosht; four siblings: Joyce (Maynard) Failing, Mary (Jim) Gallagher, Richard (Dorothy) Myers, and Donna Rueckert; sisters-in-law: Joanne Myers, and Janet Hopkins; and a grandson Bryan Scott Strong.
     The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Hospice Care Team from Memorial Health Care of Owosso, MI.
