Arthur William Nicewander

Arthur William Nicewander, age 81, of Alma, formerly of Ithaca, died Monday, December 7, 2015, at Mid Michigan Medical Center Gratiot.

Art was born October 31, 1934, in Boyne City, Michigan. the son of Alfred and Ruby (LeBaron) Nicewander.  He married Jacqueline K. Gross on June 9, 1954 in Ithaca.  She preceded him in death on March 16, 2010.  Art served his country in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, and then worked as a dental repair technician.

Art is survived by his sons, Arthur William Nicewander II of Molena, Georgia, and Timothy Wayne (Julie) Nicewander of Alma; his grandchildren, Arthur William (Christine) Nicewander III of Palmetto, Georgia,  Ashley (Scott) Henson of Hampton, Georgia, Chelsea Rebecca (Caleb) Rule of Augusta, Georgia, Ethan Jacob Nicewander of Marion, Ohio,  April Marie Nicewander, and Timothy Wayne Nicewander II; His great grandchildren, Abagail Nicewander, Emma Nicewander and Bridgette Henson; and his sisters, Marilyn (Larry) Mockridge and Susie (Denny) Page, both of Ithaca.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 11, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with Father Andrzej Boroch officiating  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Alma.  Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday, December 8, at the Barden Funeral Home.
