     Arlene Theresa McCausey, age 81, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026, at The Maples of St. Johns.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI, at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, with Rev. Fr. John Whitlock presiding. Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
     Arlene was born in Portland, MI on August 14, 1944, the daughter of Arnold and Anna (Bengel) Spitzley. She was a graduate of Fowler High School. Arlene married Wayne Olney McCausey, on May 15, 1965, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI. They were married for fifty-four years prior to his passing on March 26, 2020.
     Arlene enjoyed her time spent at home with family and friends, she was exceptionally proud of her grandchildren. Playing cards and games was one of her favorite pastimes and she loved to visit. She loved her flower gardens. Arlene was a lifetime member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
     She is survived by her children: Greg (Cathy) McCausey of Holt, MI; Michele (Joe) Hanses of Westphalia, MI; and Daryl McCausey of Lansing, MI; her son-in-law Larry Feneis of Pewamo, MI; her grandchildren: Stephanie (John) Joseph and children: Brayden and Brynlee of Nashville, MI; Amanda (Ken) Farley and children: Alyvia, Sophia, and Cooper of Pewamo, MI; Sean McCausey and children: Ava and Rhys of St. Johns, MI; Morgan (Ned) Mowatt and children: Reegan and Jackstyn of Pewamo, MI; Erika (Devon) Vanderlugt and child: Hazel of Holt, MI; Jordyn (Shane) Droste of Westphalia, MI; Riley Hanses of Westphalia, MI; Daryl “DJ” McCausey of Lansing, MI; and Caleb McCausey of Lansing, MI. She is also survived by her brother Jerry and Juanita Spitzley of Fowler, MI; sister Wilma Hengesbach of Westphalia, MI. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne, her daughter Connie Feneis, grandson Benjamin Hanses, brothers: Norman (Helen) Spitzley, Ronald (Julia) Spitzley, sister Bernice (Bernard) Hengesbach, also her brother-in-law Albert Hengesbach.
     The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jeff and Emily Wieber of the Maples at St. Johns and the extended care team for their genuine love and care for Arlene. The family would also like to thank the members of the Elara Care Team for their support.
