Annie Smalec

     Annie Smalec, age 100, of Howell, MI, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at Village Manor Retirement.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Raj Bandaru presiding. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the mass at the church. Burial will take place at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Owosso, MI.
   Annie was born in Garner, Iowa on December 29, 1923, the daughter of John and Rosalie (Hanacek) Kadera.
   Annie enjoyed being DJ at WOES for 17 years. She loved gardening, playing cards and Scrabble. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Bannister.  
   She is survived by her children: John Smalec, Carolyn and Terry Fuller, Sandy and Dawain Riebow, Terry and Ramona Smalec, Dennis Smalec, Bonnie and Alvin Schnautz, 6 grandchildren: Jen and Ron Njau, Cori and Tim Akers, Alina and Andrew Zawislanski, Aron and Ana Smalec, Joseph and Maria Smalec, Wesley and Rachel Nickens, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, brothers: Steve and Jerry Kadera and sisters: Lillian Turnboom, Rose Day, and Mary Goldman.
