Ann Maureen Ferden

     Ann Maureen Ferden, age 76, of DeWitt, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 5, 2026, at The Woodlands of DeWitt.
     Funeral Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Owosso, MI, at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, Michigan. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
      Ann was born in La Harpe, Illinois on December 24, 1949, the daughter of Berny and Shirley (Arnold) Ferrill. She graduated from Dallas City High School, Dallas City, Illinois and went on to graduate with her bachelor's degree in Music Education from Quincy College; she went on to earn her Master’s degree from Michigan State University. She married Francis Carl Gebhardt Ferden, on December 31, 1977, at Shepardsville United Methodist Church. They were blessed with twenty-nine years of marriage; prior to his passing on January 2, 2007.
      Ann enjoyed working as a music teacher and was a gifted pianist. She served as an organist and pianist at several area churches for many years.
      She is survived by her children: James (Karen) Ferden, John (Courtney) Ferden, and Sarah Meredith. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Emily, Andrew and Alaina. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis, her brother Dennis and her son-in-law Jerry Meredith.
