Alden Harold Knight

      Alden Harold Knight, age 93, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI. 

      A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. 

      Alden was born in St. Johns, MI on May 6, 1930, the son of Oliver Walter and Gena Louise (Shafley) Knight.  He graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School with the Class of 1948.  On October 2, 1949, Alden married Marilyn Lee Clark at the St. Johns Episcopal Church. After nearly sixty-one years of marriage, she passed away on August 2, 2010.

      He was lifelong farmer.  Alden enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers.   Alden also enjoyed gardening.  He was a member of the Pilgrim United Methodist Church in St. Johns, MI.  

      He is survived by his son Philip and Linda Knight of Chelsea, MI; son Robert and Colleen Knight of St. Johns, MI; daughter Laura Young of Sarasota, FL; daughter Tracy and Michael Baker of Winter Garden, FL; five grandchildren: Rebekah (Jason) Lantis, Matthew (Jenny) Knight, Taylor Baker, Holly Baker, Joshua (Megan) Baker, Heather (Danny) Gomez, Kelly Knight, Donovan Young, Nathan (Claire) Keiser, Ryan (Lindsay) Keiser, and Spencer (Grace) Knight; nineteen great- grandchildren; brother Douglas Knight of St. Johns, MI; brother Rex and Georgie Knight of Midland, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marilyn; son-in-law Donald Young; brother Kendall (Gwen) Knight; brother Dale (Jane) Knight; sister-in-law Jane Knight who was married to Doug.
